The folding smartphone that showed up at the recent National Exhibition of IT Successes has been identified.

Commenting on a Reddit post, a user pointed to a video recorded at the IFA trade show that took place in Berlin in early September. The same phone was on display at the booth of Doogee, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, with Madusan branding on the case and company representatives confirmed to the video reporter that the phone is for the North Korean market.

The base phone is a Doogee V Flip Pro, which does not appear as yet on the company’s web site.

It’s based on a Mediatek Helio G99 processor, has a 100-megapixel main camera, a physical SIM card slot and a 2,560×1,440 pixel AMOLED main display. It also only supports up to 4G, as North Korea does not have a 5G network.

North Korean smartphone brands typically source their phones from China.
